Trap League runs from April-August.
In 2007 we had nineteen(19) teams consisting of five to
eight members each.
Teams are divided into three divisions, A, B and C,
based on the skill level of the individuals in each team.
Teams then shoot for scores against each other every week, with handicaps established after the first two weeks of shooting.
Each team member takes 25 total shots, five shots from five stations 16 yards away. The top five scores from individuals on the team are tallied, and a more complex process is
put in place to determine an overall league winner.
Also this year, an all-female team entered the league,
which is open to the public and has members ranging from youth to seniors.
Trap league is held on Wednesday nights and is
open to members and non-members. You do not have to be on a team to come and shoot. An adult must accompany any one under the age of 18 years old.
Through the club we have a number of Volunteer F.A.S. instructors who have been trained through the DNR. These members offer classes to youth and adults interested in earning their "Firearms Safety Certificate" that is required for all hunters born after January 1, 1980 and for anyone wishing to hunt out of state. Classes are offered in different areas and times. Please see the attached phone list for some of the names and numbers of those instructors.
